The latest virtual challenge from Rogue Fitness is here. The “Mule Challenge” started on June 25, 2021 and lasted until June 28 at 8 PM Eastern Time. Rogue’s previous challenges include the Bear Hug Challenge, 50 Calorie Echo Bike Challenge, Cliff Challenge, Pump-N-Row Challenge and Bella Complex. The mule challenge is the third challenge involving barbell exercise. The Pump-N-Row challenge includes bench presses, while the Bella Complex consists of an Olympic barbell complex that includes high turns, front squats, and a pair of overhead presses.
Before the challenge, each participant must show the following in the submitted video:
Athletes must not use any form of sticky materials, adhesives or tape. In addition, the use of equipment such as slings, gloves or wraps is also prohibited.
Participants must photograph the equipment they intend to use for the challenge before proceeding to the challenge. To qualify, the video must clearly show the empty barbell, end caps, and weight. In addition, the five-foot tape mark between the position where the athlete will perform the deadlift and the pull-up bar must be visible. Finally, the pull-up bar must be hung on the athlete.
With a calibrated scale, all weight plates and barbells must be weighed to the correct number for the challenge. All brands are allowed to be used for weight plates and barbells.
During the mule challenge, the camera must be at a 90-degree angle to the timer, the full range of deadlift motion, and the chest impact lever are all within the frame and unimpeded.
In position, participating athletes must face pull-up deadlifts. Once they have completed each round of deadlift, they must step over the barbell and then pull up toward the barbell (so they must turn around). Sports standards are detailed on Roguefitness.com.
The 2021 Rogue Invitational is currently scheduled for October 29-31 at the Dell Diamond Stadium in Round Rock, Texas. In addition to the CrossFit competition, the Rogue Invitational will also include a strongman competition for the first time in its three-year history. The competition will also host a Rogue Record Breaker event, where athletes will try to create new world records, such as the Rogue Elephant Bar deadlift record and the Cyr Dumbbell world record.
Those who wish to participate in the Mule Challenge can register for the competition at roguefitness.com/challenges. The entrance fee is $10. The winner is expected to be announced within a few days after the final score is submitted at 8:00 pm on June 28, 2021.
